Restrict access to group subscriptions by domain

Memberful’s group subscription feature lets you sell multiple memberships purchased, distributed, and managed by a single group manager. They are a great solution for companies, groups, or schools with a single point of contact purchasing access for multiple people.

Until now, users from any email domain could join a group’s subscription. With this update, we’ve introduced a new setting that ensures that only individuals from approved domains can access the membership benefits.

Set a custom domain “allowlist” for each group subscription

On the group’s subscription page in your Memberful dashboard, you can add up to 5 domains upon the customer’s request. This setting is configured at the subscription level, meaning that each group can have a different domain allowlist.

Simple verification process for group subscription access

When someone tries to join the group subscription, we will verify if the email domain is included in the allowlist. If it’s not on the list, we will prompt them to reach out to their group manager.

If it's on the list, we’ll continue with the account creation process. Easy!

Create a unique experience with custom group names

We have also added the ability for you to customize a group’s name from the Memberful dashboard.

We will show the custom group name on all the member-facing views.

We will default to the group manager’s name if you don’t choose a group name.
