Memberful redirects let you control where members go after actions like completing a purchase, registering for free, or signing in. You can send members to a thank-you page, a members-only area, or another page that fits your workflow. In this help article, we’ll show you how to configure plan-specific redirects, redirects for free registration and standalone downloads, and global redirects.

Set up plan-specific redirects

By default, members return to the page they were on before checkout. You can instead send members to a specific URL after they purchase a plan.

Open the plan settings

Go to Revenue → Plans, then select the plan you want to update.

Toggle off the default redirect

In the After checkout section, toggle off Redirect back to the page the member was on before checkout.

Add a custom redirect

Enter the URL where you want to send members after checkout, then save your changes.

Redirect to the benefits and content page

If your plan includes benefits such as access to a private podcast or Discord server, you can show members a page with links to those benefits after checkout. Choose the option to show the benefits and content page after checkout.

Members will then see a page with links to the benefits included with their plan.

Set up a redirect for free registration

If you’ve enabled free registration, you can send members to a specific page after they sign up, such as a thank-you page. Go to Website → Domain and redirects → Custom redirects, then enter the URL in After free registration redirect.

Set up a redirect for standalone downloads

If you sell a download as a standalone purchase, you can send customers to a specific page after checkout, such as a thank-you, onboarding, or instructions page. Go to Content → Downloads, select the download, then enter the URL where you want to send customers after checkout.

A standalone download redirect only applies when a customer purchases the download on its own. Members can still access the file later from Downloads in their account.

Set up global redirects

To send members to a specific page after they sign in or out through Memberful, go to Website → Domain and redirects → Custom redirects. Enter the URLs you want to use for After sign in redirect URL and After sign out redirect URL. For example, you could send members to a personalized dashboard after they sign in.

The sign-in redirect only works if you’ve integrated Memberful with a WordPress website.
To send all members to the same page after checkout, enter the URL in After checkout redirect.

Plan-specific redirect URLs override the global After checkout redirect setting. For more detail, see Create a plan.
