Use Memberful without WordPress
Are you using Squarespace or another non-WordPress site builder like Wix, Weebly, Webflow, or Leadpages? No problem! Memberful makes it easy to sell memberships to your audience from any website—and setup takes only 2 minutes! Then you can share your members-only content through a paid email newsletter or discussion forum.
Wondering why you can't protect content on non-WordPress sites? On most platforms it's not technically possible, read our blog post to learn why.
How to try out Memberful
- Add the Memberful code to your site (optional).
- Create a sign up button.
- Make a test purchase.
- Use Memberful without a website.
Add the Memberful code to your site (optional)
By adding the Memberful code to your website, visitors will be able to pay and subscribe without leaving the page, through our pop-up overlay payment form.
Some site builders (like Wix and Leadpages) do not support Memberful’s code. In these cases, the Memberful links will open in new browser windows instead of the overlay payment form.
- Navigate to Settings → Integrate from your Memberful dashboard.
- Click I’m using something else and copy the code.
- This code should be present in the
<head>section of every page, so paste it in your master template or paste it on every single page.
Now any Memberful links you insert on your site (purchase or account links) will be recognized and ready for immediate use.
For specific integration instructions, read the article that’s right for you.
Create a sign up button or link
- From your Memberful dashboard, navigate to Plans → Sample Plan → Plan Settings
Copy the Plan purchase link URL
Paste this URL as a link somewhere on your site, or use your favorite button builder to turn the link into a button.
(Optional) Bonus step: Add an account link to your site so members can manage their profiles, subscriptions, and credit card details. Replace YOURSITE with your actual site name, which can be found in your Memberful dashboard via Account → Account settings.
Make a test purchase as a member
It can be helpful to test the purchase process to see what your members would see. To do so, access your website as a member and click the sign up button or link you created in the previous section.
While in test payment mode, check out with a test credit card and any name, CVC, billing zip, and future expiration date.
To view your test member as a Memberful administrator, navigate to the Members tab in your Memberful dashboard.
Use Memberful without a website
If you’d like to sell memberships, but either don’t have your own website or don’t have the ability to create a new sales page on your website, you can create a customized landing page hosted by Memberful by navigating to Customize → Landing page.
You can add a title and description to the page, select which plans and downloads will appear on the page, customize their name and description, and add additional content like FAQs or testimonials. If you’re on the Pro or Premium plan, your custom branding will be applied as well.
Way to go! 🎉
