Replace the group subscription manager
Group plans are Plans that contain multiple memberships purchased and managed by a single account — or "the group subscription manager." They are a great solution for companies, groups, or schools that have a single point of contact but are purchasing access for multiple people.
In certain cases, the group subscription manager may need to be replaced. This doc will walk you through the different scenarios and how to make the switch.
In this help doc:
Group manager promotes a member
Group managers can select a group member to replace them in their role.
Group managers can "promote" the member from the Manage Members tab in their account.
To start, the group manager should click the Edit member icon next to the member being promoted.
After clicking the Edit member icon they’ll be able to Promote to manager or Remove the member:
If the group manager promotes the member, they'll be able to either Remain in the group as a regular member or Remove yourself from the group and click Confirm.
Removing themselves from the group will open a seat in the subscription. Remaining in the group as a member will maintain the current seat count.
The new group subscription manager will be sent the group manager welcome email (if enabled).
Admin promotes a member to group manager
Admins can also replace group subscription managers from the dashboard and either keep or remove the previous manager from the group subscription.
Navigate to the existing group manager subscription and click the Edit member icon to Promote to manager or Remove the member:
If you promote the member, for the existing group manager, you'll be able to either Keep them in the group as a regular member or Remove them from the group and click Confirm.
Removing them from the group will open a seat in the subscription. Keeping them in the group as a member will maintain the current seat count.
The new group subscription manager will be sent the group manager welcome email (if enabled).
If you add a new member to the group subscription, you can immediately promote that member to be the group manager, and either keep or remove the previous one.
